Judy Bilbo’s routine definitely wasn’t supporting her work in the field of health care. A busy medical provider, Bilbo relied on a constant supply of soda and caffeine, which didn’t lead to the healthy lifestyle she wanted.
Determined to make a change, Bilbo committed herself to a significant health and fitness transformation. Bilbo competed in her first triathlon in 2011; From there, she was hooked. Last year she competed in the rigorous Ironman Triathlon, finishing in 15.5 hours.
An extreme work ethic in the gym, in fitness, and her career spans every aspect of her life. “I’m always thinking to myself, ‘Can I do this?’ ” she said in a recent interview, “and I have to say, ‘Yes, I can do this.’ I’ve done all the work, and I can see myself at the finish line.”
The Illinois native continues to push her limits as she seeks out new challenges. Bilbo is an Ironman Certified Coach, USA Triathlon Certified Coach Level 1, U.S. Masters Swimming Coach Level 1 and 2, RRCA Certified Running Coach, and a USATF Level 1 Track and Field Coach. Further embracing health, Bilbo is the President and CoFounder of the fitness and coaching company, Voltz Lightning.
Regular long-distance bike rides, runs, and swims are a regular part of her routine, while she continues to work in the medical field. What started as simply taking the stairs instead of the elevator, or running around the small pond in her back yard, has since evolved into a passion of living a healthy lifestyle and getting the most out of her body.
AGroSport is honored to recognize Judy Bilbo as a true exemplar of Peak Potential.
